Cat With Frostbite Rescued After It Knocks The Window For Help

The moment a stray cat desperately pawed at a windows asking for help before being rushed to the vet with frostbite, rotten teeth and worms has been caught on camera.

An unnamed woman, from Quebec, Canada, was stunned when she found a big orange cat pawing at her window in the snow, looking worse for wear.

She took a picture of the sickly stray and contacted Marie Simard - the owner of the Un Chat à la Fois (One cat at a time) rescue shelter - who rushed to help.

Marie, who named the cat Aslan, said he had 'rotten teeth, frostbite, a bite wound (he was bleeding somewhere on his body), fleas, worms, he had diabetes and skin allergy', he had since recovered from his ordeal: 'Aslan is a very affectionate cat. He forgot his outdoor life, he doesn’t try to go outside.

'He likes to sleep on his pillow and he likes to cuddle.’

A checkup found that the tabby, which has since been named Aslan in honour of the lion in The Chronicles of Narnia series, was not feral and was instead a lost pet.

Marie believes he was left behind by irresponsible owners, and 'checked everywhere' but struggled to locate anyone missing Aslan.

Meanwhile she added: 'His blood work was very bad and he had to stay hospitalised a few days so he could be stabilised before going to his foster family.

'The vet said Aslan was so sick and exhausted, he would not have survived the winter if he hadn't received immediate attention.'

The founder of the shelter said that Aslan has since been released to finish his recovery at a foster home who have decided to adopt him full time.

And social media were incredibly pleased to hear about the tabby's recovery.
