Texan Woman Has Longest Legs In The World Measuring 4ft 5inch in Austin

A US teenager has broken the world record for having the longest legs and is on her way to the UK.

Maci Currin, 17, has a right leg that is 134.3cm long and a left leg that is 135.3cm long.

She knocked Russia's Ekaterina Lisina off the top spot for longest female legs and now plans to study at a British university.

The Texan youngster urged people with unique physical attributes to "embrace" them and has her sights set on becoming the world's tallest model.

She stands at 6ft 10in and it wasn't until she was offered a custom-made pair of leggings two years ago that she realised she could have record-breaking legs.

The 17-year-old said her message to people with unusual physical attributes is "don't hide it - embrace it" and she hopes her record title will inspire other tall women.

Maci says she finds it difficult to get through some doorways, into cars, or into some clothes.

But her long legs have advantages when she is playing on her school's volleyball team.

According to Guinness World Records, Maci wants to attend university in the UK.

But, despite her long legs, she is a long way from being the tallest woman, a record held by Sun Fang from China, who stands at 7ft 3in.

A spokesman for the Guinness Book of World Records said: "Maci’s family, from Cedar Park, Texas, are relatively tall but none of her other siblings or parents quite match her height.

"Standing at 6 ft 10 in tall, her legs actually make up 60% of her total height! She wanted to go after this record title to inspire tall people everywhere to embrace their height.

Maci, from Austin, Texas, towers over her mother Trish, who is an above-average 5ft 7in – although her father Cameron is 6ft 5in, while her brother Jacob is 6ft 3in.

When Maci was born, she measured 19 inches, well within the average range, but when she was nine, she was already 5ft 7in.
