Biggest Bunny Is Losing His World Record To His Children

The world’s biggest bunny has been caught on the hop — as his children are set to take his world record.

Continental Giant Darius was crowned longest rabbit in the world ten years ago, measuring 4ft 3in (1.29m).

Offspring Lewis, aged one, and Daisy May, two, are already just over 4ft 1in and still growing.

Breeder Annette Edwards, 69, of Stoulton, Worcs, feeds the bunnies 2,000 carrots and 700 apples a year.

Daisy May has already hopped in to the Guinness Book of Records - for having the longest tail in the world.

The giant bunny's furry appendage measures a staggering 17cm - smashing the previous best by 5cm.

Annette, who has ten children and 14 grandchildren, said: “I first noticed Daisy’s tail might be unusually long when I saw her playing on the grass and thought, ‘that looks really big!’

Rabbits normally have a little bobtail.

“She’s a really big girl, about 3ft 8in in length (1.11m), and weighs two-and-a-half stone(15.87kg).  She’s actually bigger than our dog, a Cavalier King Charles.”
