Jason Donovan Helps Woman As She Is Treated By Paramedics In Notting Hill

It was the moment a good Neighbour became a Good Samaritan.

When Jason Donovan saw that a woman had collapsed in the street near his London home, his first thought was to help.

Donovan, 50, had been out for a jog when he spotted the woman unconscious on the pavement in Notting Hill.

Instead of carrying on with his run, the Australian actor went to her aid and was seen taking directions from a 999 operator on his phone.

Donovan, who played Scott Robinson in Neighbours from 1985 to 1989, put his hand under the neck of the woman, who had hit her head in the fall, and moved her into the recovery position as a crowd gathered.

He stayed with her after paramedics arrived, holding her hand while she was assessed.

When she came round, the woman recognised her helper. The former soap star grinned as she shook his hand before she was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Donovan said: 'I just did what anyone else would have done.'

The woman has since written to the star to thank him for his help in the incident last weekend and to assure him she is recovering.

Donovan is to play Pharaoh in a West End revival of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from June 27.

The actor, who starred as Joseph in the 1990s, and co-star Sheridan Smith will perform songs from the show on Britain's Got Talent.
