6 y.o Girl takes Care of Paralysed Father after her Mom Abandons them

A six-year-old girl is taking care of her paralysed dad after her mum abandoned them following the car crash that left him to rely on others.

Jia Jia has won the hearts of millions after photos showing her hand-feeding, massaging and cuddling her dad, Tian Haicheng.

She tucks him in at night and uses a homemade harness to lift him out of bed and lower him into a motorised wheelchair when he wakes up in the morning.

Every day, Jia Jia wakes up at 6am to help her 40-year-old dad begin his day before she goes off to school in China's Ningxia Province.

Tian was left paralysed from the chest down and facing a lifetime of car after he was badly injured when a taxi crashed into a ditch in March 2016.

Jia Jia was aged just four at the time.

His wife abandoned the family after tragedy struck, according to Chinese media.

Before going to school, Jia Jia massages her dad's muscles for half an hour, and helps him brush his teeth and wash his face once he is hoisted out of bed.

He accompanies her to school and when she returns home she feeds him dinner and helps him around the house.

She even helps him shave his face, and says proudly that she's now "very good" at it after cutting his face on her first attempt.

Her paternal grandparents, farmers in their 60s, take care of her father while she is at school.

Jia Jia told the Yangtzi Evening News: "Taking care of my father, I don't feel tired at all."

The newspaper said Jia Jia's family were a "happy" unit and her father worked in construction, earning 5,000 yuan (£560) a month until the car crash more than two years ago.

But the accident "ruined" everything, said Tian, who was rendered a paraplegic after his cervical spine was broken.

Doctors told him that it was a "miracle" that he wasn't killed.

Tian said: "Life is saved, but I am afraid I have to spend it in a wheelchair for the rest of my life."

He told the newspaper that his wife of seven years left with their son just two-and-a-half months after he was injured.

He added: "She told me that she had to go to her family for a few days, and then she never returned, and she took our son with her."

Tian said he had contemplated suicide until Jia Jia stopped him from taking his own life.

She tearfully told him afterwards: "Dad, you can't die. I wouldn't have a father. My mother is gone. All I have is you."

Jia Jia told a reporter that she doesn't miss her mother because she abandoned them.

Tian is unable to work, so his parents are pay for the father and daughter's living and medical expenses.

He's now live-streaming video of his life on social media, where he has almost 500,000 followers, in a bid to get financial support from viewers.
