Mexican General's Son delete his LUXURY Lifestyle accounts after Socialist President's election

A Mexican general's son has deleted his social media accounts and his 'golden life' blog detailing his life of luxury after it sparked outrage in a country that's just elected a socialist president.

Mario Sierra Moncada's pictures show him surrounded by designer goods after shopping sprees, sipping champagne by the pool, staying in swanky hotels, and even appearing to travel on the presidential plane.

But when his recent pictures flaunting his wealth sparked a backlash, Moncada - whose father is General Roberto Sierra - claimed they were publicity stunts in order to promote his blog.

When the anger refused to die down, he deleted his Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts and also took down his blog.

It's not clear exactly how Moncado is funding his lavish lifestyle, but he was described in local media as an entrepreneur and an influence as well as a television interviewer.

Before he shut it down, Mario's followers read about his jet-setting lifestyle travelling the world in private jets while dressed head to toe in designer gear.

He also boasted of his friendships with Paris Hilton, the Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez and top designers such as Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Many of Moncado's pictures show him posing with multiple designer shopping bags and his favourite designers appear to include the likes of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Ferragamo, Versace, Prada, Hermes, Armani and Dolce & Gabanna.

According to local media, his blog also offered fashion advice, such as 'put your look in the hands of the best experts.'

Moncado also claimed have access to some of the most important military chiefs via his father, including personal connections with the Defence Minister Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda.

There were also pictures of Moncado with his father, including one of the pair of them next to a Mexican Air Force helicopter.

One showed them having breakfast and was captioned: 'Having breakfast with the general. Love U daddy.'

The scandal could not have come at a worse time for his father, following a resounding victory for socialist politician Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in Mexico's recent presidential elections.

He lives in a country where not only are third in poverty, but ten percent are regarded as living in extreme poverty.

Yet at the other other end of the scale, the Mexican economy has created a small number of very wealthy people.
