70 Million to One QUADRUPLETS who are mum's greatest ever Christmas present

Quadruplets who defied 70million-to-one odds to be born are looking forward to their first festive season together.

Carla Crozier gave birth to two sets of identical twins named Isla, Demi, Alyse and Milla 12 weeks early in March.

Now they are nine months old and their 35-year-old mother is looking forward to getting a nice sleep this Christmas at the family home in Grays, Essex.

She told the Mirror: 'I look at each of them and I get butterflies in my tummy thinking: 'Wow, I've got four babies and I love them so much'.

'But it's tough! It's a constant job and I never get five spare minutes to myself.

She and her builder husband Paul, 43, have had so little rest that they have slept in separate rooms for months so Carla can soothe the twins if they wake up.

They once booked a hotel to enjoy an evening for his birthday but they both simply fell asleep.

The couple have faced years of pregnancy traumas including negative tests and miscarriages - with it taking five years to have their first child Darcie in 2013.

They then wiped out their savings by trying for a second child through self-funded IVF but were successful after a final attempt last year.

In September the couple were shocked to discover that Carla was expecting quadruplets.

She said: 'Before they arrived, I worried that I wouldn't have enough love for four babies. But my love for each of them is overwhelming.'

As for Paul, when he’s not helping Carla with nappy changes and feeds, he is busy extending the family’s three-bedroom home in Grays, Essex, to create a playroom.

And the couple have also had to fork out on an eight-seater minibus for family days out.

Carla said: “We have managed to keep costs down by buying everything secondhand. The best thing we bought is four baby swings for them to nap in.

“I quickly discovered that it is impossible to rock four babies at the same time.

"I would rock one to sleep and then another one would start crying, so I’d put one down and pick up the other and it would go on like that.

“The next thing we need is a play pen because the moment they start crawling I’m going to be running around in all directions and I will need to be able to put them somewhere so I know where they all are!”

“Life has definitely changed a lot. I have no social life now whatsoever. But I have no regrets at all.

“Having quads is an amazing experience and I am so excited for the future.”

Doting dad Paul says: “Our house has become a mad house, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Just seeing the smiles on all my girls’ faces is the best thing. Christmas Day is going to be so special.”
