Professional make-up artist Lianne Moseley, 25, from Calgary, Canada, turns regular people into real-life superheroes by covering them in an array of vivid colors in order to make them look just like illustrations from comic book strips.
The self-taught artist has transformed people into characters including Superman, Wonder Woman, Sterling Archer, and She-Hulk.
Lianne uses a water-based make-up called Aquacolor to mimic the characters, a metamorphosis that can take anywhere between one to seven hours to complete.
Done entirely by hand, her designs range from face-only to full-body creations.
'There isn't really a crazy process to what I do, but there seems to be a crazy reaction to them,' Lianne said. 'I choose a character and then I look up a bunch of pictures of them, whether it be fan art or from the actual comics.'
Lianne, who has been working as a professional make-up artist for seven years, was inspired to paint faces in a comic book style after viewing the work of Argenis Pinal, an Argentinian make-up artist, on Instagram.
She attempted the process on a friend just last year, and after posting an image of her work on social media, Lianne received an overwhelming response, prompting her to invest more time and energy into the hobby.
'He had painted himself in comic book style and it blew my mind,' she said of discovering Pinal.
'One of my friends volunteered to be a model, so I gave it a shot and was so pleased with the result, from that moment on I was inspired to do more.'
That spurred her to transform herself into her favorite cartoon character, Archer.
Since then, the talented artist has turned herself into a variety of superheroes and villains, such as Batman’s Poison Ivy, Star Trek’s Spock and X-Men’s Gambit, and now creates her unique comic book character looks regularly.
'It just became fun to turn into my favorite characters each night,' she added.
With more than 6,000 likes on Facebook, Lianne is now inundated with requests from friends and family to re-imagine them as their beloved comic heroes and villains, too.
'My mother sold Avon, and as a kid, I would constantly ransack her sample,' Lianne added. 'I have always had a deep love for make-up, right from the beginning.'
