This CCTV footage shows a young couple being brutally beaten up while enjoying a night out at a karaoke bar.
The couple can be seen sat around a table with another group of youngsters in the early hours of the morning.
However, following an argument three of the men get up from their seats and approach the 25-year-old victim.
They then begin punching him in the head, causing him to fall to the ground, before the group continue to kick him in the head.
Eventually, the man falls unconscious as his desperate 23-year-old girlfriend lies on top of him in an attempt to stop the savage attack.
However, the assault inside the bar in Melbourne's Elizabeth Street does not end there.
The group then turn their anger onto the girlfriend, with one man seen punching and kicking her as she lies on the ground.
Police say the couple had severe bruising to their bodies and faces but were fortunate to escape without any broken bones.
They are now attempting to help police find the gang following the attack shortly after 1am on January 11.
As reported by the Evening Standard, Detective Senior Constable Matt Folvig said the couple and the group had a heated exchange of words before the assault.
“Apparently they’ve just said something that was disagreed with and they’ve just turned on the pair," he said.
“I’m very surprised that there aren’t more serious injuries given the viciousness of the assault on both the male and the female.”
