This is the hairy moment a rookie soldier committed an epic training fail of the highest order - by dropping a live grenade forcing him to dive for cover.
Filmed during military training in China, the dramatic footage, circulated on LiveLeak, begins with three men activating the grenade.
One man then runs for cover, leaving the other two to peer over a wall.
But when the trainee's hand slips and the grenade bounces back off the protective wall, landing in front of them, the two men have just seconds to get to safety.
With just three seconds to act, one of the men - an instructor - pulls the trainee into a nearby ditch, saving them both from a certain and messy death.
After waiting for the grenade to explode, the men then quickly leave the ditch,miraculously unhurt.
