South America's Fattest Baby : 21 Kg "Santiago" baby is three times heavier than his age group

Santiago isn't your average eight-month-old Colombian baby. In fact, tipping the scales at 21 kilograms, he is more than three times the weight of a normal-sized child of that age.

He weighs the same as a five-year-old. Even simple tasks like washing and drying him are important to get right - or any moisture under his rolls could lead to rotting and fungal growth.

He is already experiencing health problems as a result of his dizzying weight gain and has been hospitalised several times.

Doctors are stepping in because "Santiago" is three times heavier than the average child in his age group!

Doctors say Santiago should weigh around 17 pounds.

He will be taken off formula milk and given juice and vegetables.

Doctors say there's nothing wrong, medically, but the baby has been overfed.
