A Chinese man has had three four-inch nails removed that had been hammered into his skull, after claiming he did it to himself.
The 69-year-old man from the Fujian Province was sent to hospital and has been undergoing treatment since the end of last year.
He claimed that he hammered the nails in himself and was very insistent to the doctors that the police were not called in relation to his injuries.
The doctors believe that the crime had been perpetrated by someone else, due to the severity of the injuries.
Doctors had to carefully remove the nails, and the man spent about three months recovering in hospital.
He was discharged after the three months on March 13.
Doctors believe he has made a full recovery from all injuries.
This isn't the first time a man has had to have nails removed from their head that they claimed to put there themselves.
Earlier this year doctors removed a 3 inch long nail from the head of a 55-year-old man in Nanjing, China.
According to the report, the nail became lodged in his head during an accident that occurred while Mr. Yang was decorating his house.
However, Mr. Yang did not realise the nail was was in his head until he began to feel ill the next day.
According to local reports, Yang made a full recovery and neither his eyesight nor any nerves were damaged in the procedure.
