The train was slowing down as it arrived at Watergardens station when the 17-year-old leapt out, immediately going off his feet and skidding across the concrete.
Video shot by one of the boy's friends shows fellow passengers cackling as he pries open the carriage door and jumps out.
"Is it recording or what?" one of the boys is heard saying.
"Go c---."
CCTV from the station platform shows the idiotic stunt from another angle, revealing how the boy climbed back to his feet, doubled over in apparent pain.
"This type of behaviour is reckless and dangerous and it needs to be understood that if you choose to behave in this stupid way and brag about it on social media, then you will be dealt with by police," Metro spokeswoman Larisa Tait told the Herald Sun.
"In this case, this person was incredibly lucky, and so were the five customers that they weren't hit."
