The little boy had been placed on a luggage counter at Katowice-Pyrzowice airport by a man who appears to be his father.
CCTV footage of the incident then shows the man pick up his coat while the restless child begins to lean further forward.
As the child falls off the counter, a security guard suddenly appears from nowhere with an incredible diving catch to prevent the little boy from hitting the floor.
The footage from the airport has been posted to LiveLeak, where it is stated the incident took place on November 23.
A description of the video on the site also claims the baby was handed over to his mother following the catch by the security guard.
Towards the end of the footage the man can be seen putting on his jacket before the family continue to make their way through the airport.
The security guard is also understood to have received a bonus for his actions.
