Israeli sniper's sight aimed at Palestinian boy's head

An Israel soldier has posted an instagram photo of what appears to be a Palestinian boy in the crosshairs of a sniper's rifle, sparking outrage.
The image could not be verified but its intent is plain to see.
It was uploaded to the photo-sharing site by Mor Ostrovski , 20, at the weekend and quickly picked up by anti-Israeli bloggers who labelled the image "tasteless and dehumanising".

"It embodies the idea that Palestinian children are targets," said activist Ali Abunimah, on his blog on the Electronic Intifida site.
The image and Mor Ostrovski's Instagram account have since been closed.
Ostrovski reportedly told the army he did not take the picture but found it on the internet.

Breaking the Silence, an organisation of veteran Israeli combat soldiers campaigning to raise awareness about life in the West Bank, condemned the image.

"This is what occupation looks like. This is what military control over a civilian population looks like," one member wrote on the group's Facebook page.

The Israeli Defence Forces said the soldiers' commanders have been informed of the incident, which it said would be investigated, Israeli paper Haaretz reports.

The IDF's Spokesperson's Unit said that "this is a severe incident which doesn't accord with the IDF's spirit and values. The issue was brought to the attention of the soldier's commanding officers, will be examined and properly handled. Ynet reported.
