Spanish police seized 277 kilo cocaine in Barcelona

( Translated ) Agents of the National Police , in collaboration with the Inland Revenue , have intervened 277 kilos of cocaine hidden in bovine hides in a container that was intercepted at the Port of Barcelona, ​​as reported by the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

The agents learned of the arrival of a consignment of drugs camouflaged between charges thanks to legal information, confidential and anonymous, were received in the mail account 'antidroga@policia.es', which was created by the profile on Twitter '@ police'.

In some of the e-complaints received in late September warned of the existence of a group of Dominican citizens who would distribute cocaine in the province of Madrid.

The researchers matched the data provided so we can identify the subjects involved, the operation of the organization and methodology for the introduction of the drug in Spain.

After several months of investigation into the main company involved and its figurehead, agents learned of the imminent arrival of a container with a legal burden of bovine hides that could hide a shipment of cocaine, which was located and intercepted in the Port of Barcelona from the Dominican Republican.

Inside they found 20,000 kilos of unpackaged fresh skins, so it has been necessary to remove them manually. So were located, between skins and salt, dozens of packages of cocaine with a total weight of 277 kg and whose delivery was to take place in an industrial area of ​​La Muela (Zaragoza).

The researchers, with court approval, decided to allow the container reached its final destination in order to proceed to the arrests of members of the group dedicated to drug trafficking.



The agents conducted a surveillance service in the estate where it should proceed to the delivery of the goods, where the organization had also deployed their people to detect if there was police presence and abort the operation if necessary.


FLIGHT IN CAR

Once delivered the container in the industrial area of ​​La Muela, members of the organization began to draining but not drug localizaban so, alerted to a possible police action, attempted to flee the scene.

The officers managed to arrest two of them on the ship and three others inside their vehicles ready to escape the place. But one of the cars, large displacement, managed to flee the scene by the A2 motorway at high speed.The police chased them for more than 250 kilometers until they could stop them in the vicinity of Guadalajara.

Soon after, the figurehead of the organization - a Portuguese national, sole director of the company importing and lessee of the ship where the container was unloaded - was also arrested.

In the record of the home of one of the leading members of the network, in Torrejón de la Calzada (Madrid), we found a firearm and other simulated and documentation of the organization and sending at least five other containers during the past year. A total of nine people were arrested, six of them in Zaragoza and three in Guadalajara.
